WHAT IS PHYSIOTHERAPY
Physiotherapy is a health science profession that helps people of all ages manage difficulties such as pain, stiffness, weakness, or problems getting around at home or in the community. Physiotherapy treatment is administered by physiotherapists. Physiotherapists are health professionals skilled in the assessment, diagnosis, and of discomfort that arises through life

Physiotherapy treatment is holistic, meaning that it is about the person as much as the problem, and how the problem affects their lives. Physiotherapists work with their patients to identify the factors behind their problems, to address the issues they have, and to empower their clients to achieve their best outcomes.

ALEX PHILLIPOS
Bachelor: Health Science (General)
Bachelor: Science (Neuroscience)
Grad. Diploma: Occupational Health & Safety
Master: Physiotherapy Practice
Master: Ergonomics, Safety & Health
Master: Occupational Hygiene & Toxicology
Alex was born a year before his first birthday, to a family whose hearts were full of love, in a home full of asbestos and lead paint. He grew up in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, and at the end of his schooling his father encouraged him to study engineering or law, and his mother encouraged him to study dentistry. He surprised both of his parents by studying physiotherapy, surprised himself by sticking it out to completion, and surprised everyone else by being good at it.

Having completed his studies and graduating with degrees in Health Science and Physiotherapy as well as in significant debt, Alex completed a rotational year in the Austin Hospital network before stumbling enthusiastically between community practice, aged care, private and general clinics, and occupational health for the better part of a dog's lifespan. After fumbling as far upwards into management as a good handshake and a winning smile will get you, Alex preferred having afternoon naps and so started his own practice. He had some spare time and so has completed additional study in Neuroscience, Ergonomics, Safety and Health, Occupational Hygiene and Toxicology, and OHS, though he is most proud of his Humility.

Currently, Alex splits his time between general physiotherapy with an occupational health focus, ergonomics, work health and safety consulting, return to work rehabilitation, and further study in Mechanical Engineering and Law, which just goes to show you should probably listen to your dad because he's going to be right eventually. He lives in Alphington with the ghost of his cat Domenico, his three-legged cat Luther, his four-legged cat Cally, and his partner who is alive and real and who has the usual amount of legs. Alex enjoys vinyl records, diner food, cats, trains, weightlifting, videogames, painting, Tylenol, and using the Third-Person narrative voice.
